What conversational AI has already done in education

Independent, published results from other institutions — evidence of what this category can do. These are third-party deployments, not DVAI’s own; we show them to illustrate the opportunity a voice-native, on-device DVAI Education Agent is built to address.

Georgia State University

USA · randomised controlled trial

Georgia State deployed a conversational AI assistant, "Pounce" (built by AdmitHub, now Mainstay), to tackle "summer melt" — students who accept a place but never enrol.

The result

In a randomised controlled trial published by Page & Gehlbach and reported by Brookings, the assistant was associated with a 21.4% lower summer-melt rate and a 3.9% higher enrolment rate. In its first summer it exchanged around 200,000 messages with incoming students, with under 1% requiring a member of staff.39

Where DVAI takes it

Pounce was a text-based assistant. A DVAI Education Agent brings a voice-native, on-device approach to the same proven use case — a more empathetic, human-centric channel for the complex, pastoral conversations that sit behind enrolment, with the sovereignty of local processing.

Leeds Beckett University

UK · Clearing

During the high-pressure Clearing period, Leeds Beckett used a conversational assistant, "Becky", to help prospective students find a course and receive provisional offers.

The result

As reported by Computer Weekly, the assistant handled around 21,000 conversations and helped 200 students secure places during the 2017 Clearing period — making offers 24 hours a day, including in the middle of the night when phone lines were closed.40

Where DVAI takes it

This showed a UK university making real Clearing offers around the clock through conversational AI. A DVAI Education Agent extends that to a voice-native, on-device agent — answering every call on the first ring at the sector’s most time-compressed, revenue-critical moment, and freeing staff for the students in genuine distress.

The case studies above describe the results of other organisations’ own AI deployments, achieved with third-party products (as named), and are drawn from the cited public sources. They are presented as industry evidence of the category’s potential. They are not DVAI performance claims; DVAI is pre-revenue and makes no representation as to outcomes for any individual institution.

Education Agents — questions we’re often asked

The Education Agents family spans schools, universities, EdTech providers, student unions and corporate learning-and-development — each with its own use cases, from admissions and enrolment enquiries to learner support.

It answers the routine, high-volume questions — admissions, enrolment, timetabling, support signposting — instantly and at any hour, so learners get answers without waiting and staff are freed from repetitive enquiries.

Built on Bridge, the agent is designed to run on-device and behind the firewall, so student data can stay within the institution’s environment. Where a use case touches student wellbeing, the agent surfaces the institution’s own approved support routes and escalates to a person — it does not stand in for a safeguarding professional.

It supports them by removing administrative and enquiry load, so educators and support staff can focus on teaching and on the students who need a human. It does not replace teaching.

It is designed to work alongside the student-information and learning systems you already run. The exact fit depends on your systems — a scoping conversation would cover it.
